Syncro Caribe is a synchronization of tobaccos from Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Ecuador. No doubt it’s a blend representing a naturally harmonious experience. The company calls this process “Natural Distribution”. This means the proportions of the tobaccos on any given plant are perfectly matched in the blending process.
When the critical folks at Halfwheel bestowed it with a 91 rating, we had to tell you what they say. “Creamy, complex and nicely balanced, Syncro Caribe is an excellent addition to the company’s Syncro series, and one of the best I have smoked so far. Not only do the main flavors change after the halfway point, but the sweetness does as well. Then morphing from honey sweetness in the first half to a distinct maple syrup sweetness for the second half. There is also just enough white pepper and spice throughout to enhance the flavors. Throw in the fantastic construction, and you have an extremely enjoyable choice for those looking for a medium strength, full-flavor blend.”

Avo XO was created by Master Blender Hendrik Kelner in 1988.
The XO consists of a light-tan Ecuadorian Grown Connecticut wrapper and a premium interior of Dominican binder and filler tobaccos that are aged for at least six years. It’s hard to believe this blend is over 36 years old. Amazingly enough, it continues to get accolades from industry critics.
In 2024, Cigar Aficionado rates this cigar a 92. Their description proves this old soldier can still please the best of them. “This cigar brings a toasty, nutty smoke to the palate with subtle notes of honeyed tea, orange peel and caramel. Elegant and easygoing.” Noted reviewer KATMAN still feels the flavors are very potent and pleasing. The Cigar Authority scored it a solid 90 exclaiming. “A remarkably smooth, yet richly complex medium-bodied composition balanced with notes of wood, spice, dry and sweet fruit.” While Cigar Coop shares that same 90 rating, they conclude it to be an excellent cigar and one that kept true to the milder, creamier experience known the Avo XO line to have.

Avo Syncro Nicaragua Fogata is a round size variant of the box-pressed Avo Syncro Nicaragua, which debuted in 2015.
The Nicaragua Fogata has an exquisite Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper encasing a Mexican San Andrés binder along with an extensive array of Dominican Republic and Nicaragua tobaccos. To say this blend is complex would be an understatement.
The results are as expected. Noted reviewer KATMAN rates it a 90. His take…”It is smooth. Transitions are the best since I first lit the cigar. This edition contains a very complex blend to say the least. Yes, it’s well made, draws perfectly and burns evenly. But this solid medium bodied stick is like a flavor freight train! Unlike like it’s Dominican purebred Classic counterpart, the Avo Syncro Nicaragua is a totally different experience that brought countless new smokers in the Avo fold!
Cigar Dojo rates this cigar a 92 and says it contains loads of complexities and refined flavors throughout. Claiming that Avo accomplishes its first commitment to the power of Nicaraguan tobacco. Leaf Enthusiast scores it 9 out of 10 with equally good things to say….” This cigar has very good flavors and excellent balance.” Blind Man’s Puff describes this smoke as an absolute powerhouse of flavor and strength. They put it at 91 on the scale. But when Cigar Aficionado placed it in their top 25 cigars for the year with a high mark of 93……Enough said.
