It’s been said that this original edition of the series is an “acquired taste”. Yes, it was rated 93 and generally described as a very good medium bodied stick. And yes, it utilized a vintage blend of Nicaraguan long fillers and binder combined with a Corojo wrapper from 2006. While some folks felt it wasn’t strong enough, others said it was just right. As I’ve always said, taste is a personal preference.

After the huge success of Tabernacle’s original entry, Foundation’s owner put on his mad scientist, Master Blender hat and went to work. With this edition, the wrapper was spawned from a combination of Cuban seed and Connecticut seed tobaccos encasing Nicaraguan and Honduran filler leaves with a San Andreas Mexican binder. The result is a smooth and balanced medium to full bodied stick that slowly increases in intensity as you move along with a pleasant sweetness that’s not overpowering.

Ok, I’ll admit it. This is one of my personal favorites. Henry Clay has a rich heritage dating back to Cuba. Cigar giant Altadis has done a great job with this old school brand. This complex little guy is wrapped in a near black USA grown Connecticut Broadleaf with a Honduran Broadleaf binder. The Dominican fillers are combined with a rarely used, very powerful Capa Dura Honduran leaf which oddly enough, is a leaf thats grows on the plant after its been harvested. The result is a highly rated medium-full bodied pigtailed powerhouse with a $4 price.
Origin – Honduras
Filler – Dominican
Binder – Honduran
Wrapper Type – Connecticut Broadleaf
The super dark and oily wrapped Black edition was introduced in 2006. It’s proprietary blend of tobaccos were aged three years before release. This Cohiba is an espresso of a cigar with a deep, lustrous wrapper that consistently delivers rich, concentrated flavor. The result is a long burning, super smooth medium to full bodied taste that is so satisfying you’ll forget about the price and hesitate to share them!
I can’t think of better gift as well than a box of 10 glass tubes.

Viaje Supershot is another very popular small bath blend from this great company.
With attention to detail, the Supershot is an all-Nicaraguan puro featuring a Nicaraguan Criollo wrapper. Cigar Coop rates this little beauty a score of 91. Their words describe this cigar perfectly.” This Supershot is one of the smoothest blends in the line to date. Delivering a mix of mocha (coffee and chocolate), cream, pepper spice, and some citrus. This is certainly one I’d advise checking out.”
With this in mind, noted reviewer KATMAN exclaims, “It amazes me how oily the wrapper is. It is almost art. The cigar continues on its journey and the strength is increasing. The flavor profile keeps increasing. The cigar possesses balance with a very long finish”.
