The Blackened M81 cigar line is a three-part collaboration between Jonathan Drew, James Hetfield (of Metallica fame), and Rob Dietrich (Master Distiller and Blender of BLACKENED American Whiskey). This very interesting blend consists of a San Andrés maduro wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf maduro binder, and fillers of Nicaragua and Pennsylvania Broadleaf maduro. The latter is said to be “the boldest Pennsylvania Broadleaf ligero in Drew Estate’s vast tobacco inventory.” This remarkable all maduro cigar starts and stay at the medium body range with an amazing draw. The smoke is thick, rich, robust and aromatic. Flavor notes of espresso and dark chocolate combine with spices that gradually morph into a naturally sweet tobacco taste. This cigar is a winner on all fronts.
