Description
CAO Classic: Gold is the first cigar this legendary company created. To begin with, Cano Aret Ozgener started CAO in 1977 as a pipe and personal humidor company. In 1995 he created the Gold cigar line which became an unexpected success throughout the country. Soon thereafter other blends like the Maduro and Cameroon achieved high ratings and accolades as well. As of 2006, CAO is now part of Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s General Cigar brand listing. Since then CAO continues to grow in popularity and blend offerings that attract an ever growing segment of smokers to this day.
In the height of the “Cigar Boom’ of the 90’s, CAO added this line of cigars to their offerings. Until then, they were known for pipes, humidors and other smoking accessories. When this cigar hit the streets, Cigar Aficionado’s review then still holds true today. “A silky, smooth wrapper on a well-made medium bodied cigar. It is earthy, with wood and sweet spice notes.” Oddly enough, in 2109 they rate this blend a score of 91. No doubt the CAO Gold was a winner then and is still pleasing smokers today.
To sum up, CAO Classic: Gold is available in six popular sizes of 20 count boxes as well as packs of Cigarillos

Here we are looking at the first entry that started the CAO cigar line over 20 years ago long before General CIgar purchased the brand from the family that started the company. This mild to medium bodied stick has actually gotten better over the recent years. If you’ve tossed them aside years ago, you may want to revisit the recently reviewed 91 rated torpedo for starters. This expertly made, perfectly drawing stick has evolved into a consistently smooth , complex tasting winner that still offers a rich smoking experience after so many years.
