Description
Don Tomas Clasico is a brand worth rediscovering. To begin with, Don Tomas has been around for over 50 years. It still has a heritage of being a good cigar for a fair price. Over fifteen years ago General Cigar snatched the company up to bring this “Old School” icon back to the glory it deserved. The result for this Senior Citizen of the cigar world? With three blends and numerous sizes to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find a Don Tomas that will please your palate.
With attention to detail, the Honduran blend enveloping this survivor is still holding up throughout the world. The addition of select Nicaraguan leaves to the filler rounding out a taste that’s been enjoyed for decades. This medium to full body, medium strength cigar still remains affordable to everyone.
How about a 90 Rating for the original version and being one of the top 25 cigars of 2006 from Cigar Aficionado! Their words still ring true today. “This cigar tends to be toasty, woody and slightly sweet. Still remaining to be one of the greatest bangs for the buck in the world of premium cigars.” Even recently, Bored Absurdist still claims, “Easy and straightforward. This Don Tomas hit the spot. It’s a cigar that is just a great cigar, and I enjoyed smoking it.” Cigar Century describes it perfectly. “Featuring a combination of select long-fillers and supremely superb construction giving way for an easy draw and even burn. With flavor notes of chocolate, roasted nuts, hard woods and buttered toast”
No Bells and whistles here. Well made, priced right, great draw, even burn and a surprisingly complex medium bodied flavor.
To sum up, Don Tomas Clasico comes in eight popular sizes of 20/25 count boxes depending on the one you pick. There’s even 4 x 32 gauge Cononita cigarillos in tins for short smokes!
