Description
Foundation Metapa Maduro is one of this company’s very special cigars. To begin with, Nick Melillo served as Drew Estate’s Executive Vice President of International Operations for many years before forming Foundation in 2015. His talent speaks for itself by blending some of Drew Estate’s best cigars such as Liga Privadas #9,T-52 and Dirty Rat along with Undercrown to name a few.
With attention to detail, Metapa Maduro is one of Nick’s finest creations. The vintage filler hail from the Esteli and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. Add in a grade A Connecticut Broadleaf binder and you know it’s going to be special. Encase everything in a Ecuadorian grown Sumatran wrapper and you have one complexly blended smoke.
Noted reviewer KATMAN rates this Foundation creation a respectable 90. He describes it aptly. “The blend sticks it with its chocolate creaminess, its nuttiness, the lovely malt, some dried fruit sweetness, a touch of maple candy, and a nice level of spiciness.”
The folks at Stogie Press feel this cigar leaving a lasting impression on the palate amount to a rating of 93. Their words are perfect. “Early on, fruity notes join the profile, contributing to the taste experience. The draw remains smooth, accompanied by a mildly peppered retro-hale. Think natural tobacco sweetness, fruit cake, maple syrup and toasted crackers for starters.
To sum up, Foundation Metapa Maduro comes in 4 popular sizes of 10 count boxes
