The backstory of the Graycliff JHG (John Howard Graysmith) is that it’s produced with aged vintage leaves that were created when the company started off. What’s more fascinating is that only these
rustic looking cigars are rolled 100% by hand without the use of any molds, so each one is basically a stand alone example . They were originally produced in two varieties, the Buccaneer (torpedo) and Cannon (parejo). We only have the torpedo left. Given the exclusivity of this brand, we really don’t know if the Cannon will return any time soon. The first thing that grabs you is the unfinished foot and the very toothy wrapper. While this cigar certainly doesn’t look like it deserves a $29.00 price, the strength, intensity, complexity and overall smoking experience is worth admission to the Graycliff club. JHG is Graycliffs strongest blend so if you’re not a fan of robust cigars, pass this one by. Think heaps of aromatic smoke, pepper, spices, clove, nutmeg, nuts, hardwoods and natural tobacco flavors both sweet and raw. Did I say this was a very complex cigar?! Enjoy….BIG TIME.
