Description
Joya De Nicaragua Antano 1970 is one this iconic brand’s amazing selections. To begin with, Jonathan Drew’s creation of Drew Estate started a revolution of amazing cigars. From Acid to Liga Privada, Undercrown, Herrera Esteli and beyond. No matter which cigar he produces, smokers love them.
What’s more important to note that Joya de Nicaragua is the oldest cigar brand in Nicaragua. What should be noted is that Drew Estate is the exclusive distributor for these fantastic cigars in the United States.
The Antano 1970 was originally introduced in 2001. With this in mind, Cigar Aficionado revisited this classic in January of 2023 and yes…..an astounding 93 rating! They sum up this long standing favorite best.
“With new brands and new blends coming to market each year, it’s easy to forget the classics. The Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970 Churchill is one such example. It comes from the oldest producer of handmade cigars in Nicaragua. And the blend is what brand owner Alejandro Martínez-Cuenca regards as a quintessential Nicaraguan cigar. By this he means that the tobacco used represents the country’s most important growing regions, giving us a sense of place and origin. This cigar’s steady balance of earth, sweetness and power also remind us of why the house of Joya de Nicaragua has been standing for so long.”
To sum up, Joya De Nicaragua Antano 1970 is available in 10 popular sizes of 20 count boxes. From Robustos to Churchills and everything in between. Even the rarely found Lancero! But the Churchill is a top pick for sure!

50 years ago Joya De Nicaragua was considered one of the world’s best cigars with a reputation as being a true cuban style “He Man” stick. Back then and until recently, if you were a fan of mild smokes, you’d stand clear of this 90+ rated long time full bodied old school favorite. This original dark and oily Antano 1970 is a very robust and complex cigar. Its spicy with heaps of natural tobacco flavor and noticeably increases in strength and intensity as you move it along to an outstanding finish.
