Description
La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli Maduro is the dark cloaked edition to this brand’s Natural counterpart. To begin with, La Gloria Cubana is a premium cigar brand originating in Cuba in 1885. No doubt, this brand has a rich history and is still known for its craftsmanship. The founding family of Ernest Perez-Carrillo fled to the United States and began to produce the first non-Cuban La Gloria Cubana blend in Miami at the El Credito cigar factory. Now owned by General Cigar, La Gloria Cubana offers a variety of blends, each with its own distinctive flavor profile and construction.
With attention to detail, Serie R Esteli Maduro uses the same Nicaraguan forward blend as its Natural counterpart. The big difference here is the Grade A dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. This addition is pivotal in tempering its strength while allowing flavors to surface with a deep sweetness.
Leaf Enthusiast feels this is a worthwhile smoke. Their advice….”Definitely a good addition to the LGC lineup and a good choice for Maduro fans on a budget who want a big, long-lasting cigar.” Developing Palate says this Maduro is a cool and slow burning cigar. Along with its medium body, Halfwheel claims it has a bunch of flavor notes. Think leather, gritty earth, grass, coffee and hazelnuts. Cigar Aficionado think the 60 ring gauge offering is definitely worth a try. Their take….”A monstrous cigar that’s very solid. It smokes well, and has cherry notes and hints of toast and sweet wood. Medium to full bodied.”
To sum up, La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli Maduro comes in three popular sizes of 18 count boxes

I’m a huge fan of this brand. I have not been a fan of their increasing prices. When this edition was launched in 2015, not only did I feel it was the best one I ever smoked, I was delighted at the affordable everyday price. Getting a 91 rating and being named one of the top 25 cigars of the year was a statement that I wasn’t alone. I feel this stick in either its natural or maduro wrapper ranks as one of the greatest Cuban style, medium to full bodied cigars available on our whole site. If I could give it a sixth star, I would ! Enough said. Buckle up!
