Description
Montecristo Platinum is one of this long storied company’s most popular cigars. To begin with, when this iconic Cuban brand was launched in 1935, the world of Premium Cigars changed forever. Altadis acquired the Montecristo name for outside of Cuba in 1990 and began producing many sizes and styles available to all of us. Over the years, this brand’s portfolio continues to grow adding blends appealing to every smoker. Expensive? Yes. Worth the price? Absolutely. Quality, consistency, draw and taste complexity have remained near perfect for decades.
For the record, the Platinum series is still pleasing discerning smokers for many years. With attention to detail, this great cigar consists of quite the intriguing and complex blend of cigar tobaccos from four countries. When Cigar Aficionado gave the Churchill a 94 rating, it beat out most of it’s Cuban competitors. Their short and sweet description still applies today. “A hearty, meaty smoke with flavors of salty, roasted nuts and wood on the palate.” Without doubt, this Montecristo is a long standing winner. To put it another way, aficionados will continue enjoying Platinum for years to come.
Like its counterparts, Platinum is perfectly made with a great draw. The bonus is this medium-full bodied beauty increases in intensity as you move along.
To sum up, Montecristo Platinum is available in six popular sizes of 15 and 27 count boxes.

When this Cuban brand was launched in 1935, the world of Premium Cigars changed forever. Their #2 Torpedo became the world’s biggest selling cigar. I’ve had a few of them over the years and can honestly say they were ok. But that’s just me.
Altadis acquired this iconic name decades ago and began producing many sizes and styles available to all of us. For the record, this 94 rated edition beat out most of its Cuban competitors at the time. This four country blended stick is noticeably stronger than the Original series with more of a Cuban styled spicy taste that’s not overpowering. Like its counterparts, this edition is perfectly made with a great draw. This medium-full bodied beauty increases in intensity as you move along.
