Description
Romeo y Julieta 1875 (Red) contains a multinational blend proving to be very popular with many smokers. To begin with, the Romeo y Julieta marque starts off around 1875 in Cuba. After the Revolution and ownership changes, the brand was moved to La Romana in the Dominican Republic. So as to production today for the American market, it continues under the direction of Altadis. Romeo y Julieta remains one of world’s top sellers. As time passes more new smokers continue falling in love with these great cigars.
Coming to market in 2014, this Romeo also identifies as the Cigarros edition. With attention to detail, construction of this cigar is what you’d expect from the brand. What’s attracted so many people is the seemingly lower price along with it’s mild to medium body. Additionally, this vitola is smooth smoking, cool burning and has it’s share of flavor notes. Think hardwoods, natural tobacco and bits of pepper and spices and you’ll get the picture. With it’s open draw, this is an easy cigar to derive flavors from.
Without a doubt, if you’re looking for an everyday Romeo, this one fits the bill for sure!

I found out about this elusive “CIGARROS” blend by accident. I was given a tin of Petite Bullies and loved them. I went on to find out that standard sizes were available in boxes of 15. This medium bodied Romeo combines Dominican Olor binders, Dominican and Brazilian fillers encased in a Indonesian Sumatra wrapper. While some folks have described this blend as one dimensional, I think the straight forward smooth mellow taste of natural tobacco with flavor notes of cedarwood are consistent and very enjoyable.
