Description
Foundation’s The Wise Man Maduro is a very unique smoke. Crafted by veteran cigar industry powerhouse Nick Melillo, this cigar has something to prove. At first glance you might not even know how to pronounce the name of this cigar. “El Gueguense” translates to “the wise man.” The name plays homage to an old Nicaraguan story. Melillo, who has spent a lot of his time living in the country seems to be highlighting this really cool story with this cigar.
This cigar uses a Mexican San Andres wrapper and Nicaraguan binder to start. Under that is aged filler tobacco from Nicaragua as well. All of the El Gueguense cigars are aged before shipping which adds to their extremely smooth flavor profile. Because of this you will pick up notes of pepper and coffee throughout the smoke. Additionally, some sweetness and earth comes through the Wise Man about midway.
If you are a fan of rich Nicaraguan smokes, then you came to the right spot. Foundation has been so hot right now producing some of the best Nicaraguan blends on the market. This one is no different. I encourage everyone to try this cigar if you are a fan of this brand and flavor profile. Disappointment is not a word that can be associated with such a special cigar like this one.
