Montecristo Pepe Mendez Pilotico is a collaboration between Altadis U.S.A’s Grupo de Maestros team and Dominican tobacco company José Mendez & Co.
With attention to detail, the Pepe Mendez Pilotico is the definition of expert craftsmanship. While it’s one of the higher priced Montecristos, it’s an extremely good one. To put it another way, this vintage blend is a flavor bomb! This medium bodied smoke yields heaps of natural tobacco taste and aromatic smoke. Cigar Coop rates it a respectable 92 and describes it perfectly. “While the Montecristo Pilotico Pepe Mendez Toro has excellent flavor, there is one thing that really surprises me – and that is the complexity and change-ups this cigar delivers. If you like a cigar that undergoes a lot of flavor transitions, then this is a cigar for you.”
If you’re a fan of boutique blends and Montecristo cigars, this one should be in your humidor.

Blanco Nine
The NINE is made with the finest Oscuro Corojo wrapper grown in Nicaragua. The wrapper, which has been aged for a minimum of three years, has been masterfully blended with an exquisite binder from the world famous Jalapa Valley in Nicaragua. To achieve the complex and sophisticated taste and aroma of this full-flavored and full-bodied cigar, three different ligero leaves are used from various Nicaraguan tobaccos as filler. This cigar has a dark, oily and marbleized colored wrapper. There are notes of wood and cocoa on the unlit foot with big flavors right off the light. Smooth draw with clouds of rich smoke. Earth, coffee and spices dominate the palate, quickly followed by a full and long- lasting body. This is a big smoke with a big profile. After 8 attempts at blending this cigar the ninth was perfection! The NINE is a ten.
From the roller trainee made Curly Heads to the famed Chateau Fuente line and the more than dozen style in between, the Arturo Fuente Maduro Series of great cigars have been pleasing countless smokers for decades. This vast collection of Dominican made violas which also includes the Gran Reserva brands varies in wrapper, binder and filler contents as well as prices. The only difference between these Maduros and the Natural line is the dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The result is more of a richer more robust taste.
If you’ve tried them, you know what we’re saying. If you haven’t and you’re a fan of darker smokes, what are you waiting for?
