This version uses a Dominican binder, a bevy of Nicaraguan Habano filler leaves, and is topped in an Ecuador Habano Sungrown wrapper. The result is a smooth mild to medium bodied smoke with rich and creamy flavors. Think natural tobacco, citrus, cafe latte and toffee for starters. The results don’t surprise us.

This Gran Reserva uses a very rare Corojo 2006 Dominican wrapper encasing a mix of Dominican Corojo and Nicaraguan Habano tobaccos. The result is a medium to slightly full body smoking experience via a perfect draw. The critics agree!
Cigar Lovers Magazine heartily recommend this cigar with a 90 rating. Cigar Coop scores this Corojo a respectable 91. PDR A Flores Privada BP Maduro is formally known as the A. Flores 1975 Serie Privada Maduro.
The construction on the cigar is superb. The flavor is even better, balanced and very tasty, with pleasant hints of vanilla, coffee bean and cocoa. This medium to full bodied jewel with a sharp box pressing and superb balance is a great any time of day smoke. Hands Down!

This PDR is the culmination of select Viso, Seco and Ligero tobaccos. The result is a mild to medium-body cigar of exceptional quality. The wrapper is a very silky Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade contributing to its mild flavor and slightly sweet character. The result is balance and smoothness from start to finish. Flavor notes? Think herbal, hardwood, cinnamon raisin toast, vanilla, oak and citrus for starters. There’s also a welcome bit of tasty spice that in no way is overcoming to the overall blend.

The dark and oily San Andres Grade A Maduro leaf encasing the filler/binder is a joy to behold. The result is another smooth smoking any time of the day cigar with a bit more character. It’s also got some nice flavor notes. Think dark chocolate, spice, earth, leather, and vanilla for starters.
Cigar Aficionado pleasantly claims this cigar is a primarily sweet and woody smoke with a toffee note and toasty finish. The Stick Stickler… “Where cigars are put to the test.” Rates this PDR a very respectable 92. They think this smoke is just delicious with subtle sweetness and traditional flavors. PDR El Trovador A Flores Maduro is one of two excellent cigars in this line.
El Trovador Maduro contains the same complex blend as it’s Rosado counterpart. The big difference here is the wrapper. Adding a grade A dark and oily Mexican Maduro leaf to encase the filler/binder makes for a special smoke. Retaining it’s medium body, the maduro wrapper adds a sweetness to the overall taste. Think notes of chocolate and earth and spice for starters.

Stogie Review enjoyed it and describe it well. “A medium to full bodied cigar with flavors of dark, rich coffee, licorice and a nice tobacco taste.” Cigar Aficionado gives it a thumbs up too with a respectable rating of 92. Sweet woods and floral notes are balanced by spices, earth and hints of dried orange peel.”

La Flor Dominicana Air Bender Maduro is as equally loved as the original edition.
With attention to detail, the Air Bender Maduro contains the same vintage blend with one big exception. The dark and oily Brazilian Habano wrapper gives this version a slightly different body and taste. Cigar Aficionado rates it a respectable 90. Their description is short and to the point. “Strong, earthy and peppery, this cigar imparts a spicy smoke, but there are also notes of dark toast, espresso and dried fruit. The draw and burn remain even.”
No doubt this maduro’s overall body and complexity is still full with big bold flavors. While this cigar may have taken it’s time developing, it was worth the wait. That is to say, this Air Bender is another winner for Litto Gomez and his great company. If you like the original, you owe it to your palate to try these.
