M. X. S. Tiago Splitter is one of two special athlete themed cigars from Crowned Heads distribution partner ACE Prime.
This complex, four country M.X.S. blend is the brain child of Master Blender Luciano Meirelles. The result is exactly what you would expect…..a great mild to medium bodied smoke.
Cigar Coop rated it a very respectable 90 with a perfect summary. ” The Tiago Splitter delivered an excellent experience from a Sumatra-wrapped cigar. The cigar delivered excellent flavor and had a nice amount of complexity to it.” Think flavor notes of Citrus, Earth, Caramel, Baker’s Spice, and Black Pepper. You can match this with amazing natural tobacco taste and heaps of aromatic smoke via a great draw.

The Sumatra possesses filler tobaccos from three different regions of Nicaragua and a Nicaraguan Habano binder. Encasing these leaves is an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. The Maduro contains vintage Nicaraguan fillers and binder together with a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper.
With the medium bodied Sumatra, think flavor notes of earth, dark roast coffee, and a touch of pepper. On the Maduro side you have a medium plus body with an array of tastes including coffee beans, chocolate mocha, dried fruit, hard woods and a touch of spice. Either one you choose gives you a great way to sample a masterpiece from true artisans.

The Camacho Nicaraguan edition is considered by many to be the finest Camacho release in years. When the robusto scored an astounding 94, Cigar Aficionado plainly stated it was one of the best cigars they’ve smoked all year. This oily wrapped gem is actually a four country blend of vintage leaves. This complexity creates a medium to full bodied cigar possessing a sweet and spicy taste with pronounced flavor notes of cocoa, nougat, fruits and hardwoods. When this cigar launched, the folks at Davidoff described it best. “This series creates depth to our Camacho Core portfolio appealing to a wider range of consumers’ tastes. Although bold, the blend is balanced and remarkably flavorful.” Enough said! It’s time to taste an amazing cigar that rated higher than its Cuban counterparts!

Caldwell Eastern Standard Sungrown is one of four versions of this company’s first entry.
This medium to full bodied cigar was best described by Robert Caldwell himself as follows,”The Sungrown is a creamy cigar with noticeable nicotine. Its peppery nature is balanced perfectly by its creamy balance. It is slightly sweet, a bit nutty and rich. It is full-bodied and best enjoyed with a stiff drink.” Noted reviewer KATMAN confirmed this great cigar’s complexity best, ” Very creamy, black pepper with a touch of red pepper, chocolate, apple butter, cumin, fresh pear, cedar, and malts.” Enough said!

With attention to detail, these cigars are rolled at Agroindustrias Laepe S.A. in Danli, Honduras, which also produces Camacho cigars. Robert Caldwell blended this one himself. The Blind Man’s Bluff Maduro is one of four in this amazing series. Unlike the original, this blend’s is comprised of Dominican long fillers with a Sumatran binder. But the big difference is the dark and oily Pennsylvanian Maduro wrapper. This combination leads to a very enjoyable smoking experience. The highly critical folks at Cigars Daily describes it best,”Caldwell’s Blind Man’s Bluff Maduro is a three country blend that produces a medium-strength flavor that builds over time. Light up this dark cigar to get flavor notes of cinnamon, cedar, vanilla, coffee, and raisins. This is a fantastic blend for anyone who wants a Maduro with a refined flavor that doesn’t pack a wallop of high nicotine strength.”
