Don Tomas Maduro is another popular version of this storied brand.
This darkly wrapped edition is known for giving brand fans a bit more character than the original blend. Using a grade A Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper starts thing off. Tweaking the legendary Honduran filler with Dominican leaves adds to the smoothness. The result is a medium to slightly full bodied smoke from start to finish. Think charred hard woods, chocolate, black pepper and natural tobacco taste via a great draw. The aromatic smoke is a bonus.
Cigar Aficionado rating it a respectable 89 doesn’t hurt either.

Having been around for over 50 years, Don Tomas Clasico is a brand worth rediscovering.
The Honduran blend enveloping this survivor is still holding up throughout the world. The addition of select Nicaraguan leaves to the filler rounds out a taste that’s been enjoyed for decades. This medium to full body, medium strength cigar still remains affordable to everyone.
How about a 90 Rating for this old soldier and being named one of the top 25 cigars of 2006 from Cigar Aficionado! Their words still ring true today. “This cigar tends to be toasty, woody and slightly sweet. Still remaining to be one of the greatest bangs for the buck in the world of premium cigars.”
If you’re looking for a great everyday smoke, Don Tomas should be in your humidor.

Diesel Whiskey Row is another unique collaboration with AJ Fernandez along with Diesel and the Rabbit Hole Bourbon distillery.
The binder leaves were aged in bourbon barrels from Rabbit Hole Distillery that were initially placed at the factory since 2016. The rest of the blend uses a dark 5 year old Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and fillers tobaccos from the 3 top growing regions of Nicaragua. And each of these leaves has been aged for 5 to 8 years. The result is an amazing medium to slightly full bodied smoke to say the least!
Blind Man’s Puff emphatically states, “The smoke output and construction were spot on and it’s hard to find fault with anything.” To further illustrate the characteristics, noted reviewer KATMAN describes it perfectly. “Lovely components of honey, marzipan, caramel, custard, whipped cream, black licorice, and malted milk balls. The Whiskey Row keeps you guessing.”
To say this a pleasant diversion from your everyday smoke is an understatement!

CAO World: Nicaragua is one of this company’s very popular World Series.
All the fillers in this spectacular cigar all come from Nicaragua, specifically Condega, Estelí and Jalapa. The Honduran wrapper and binder comes from the Jamastran Valley.
While the jury’s still out deciding if this edition is either medium to full bodied or just flat out full flavored from the get go, what has been decided is this 90+ rated cigar is the most uniquely tasting one of the entire series. It’s generally agreed this darker cigar is robust and spicy. But who would have thought that a two country blend could produce a spearmint undertone in its overall taste bouquet?!

The addition of rarely grown Italian long filler leaves to this cigar’s mix produces a highly rated full bodied, thickly sweet and spicy, bold masterpiece. Cigar Aficionado rates this jewel a very respectable 92. Their description is spot on. “There’s a reddish, colorado-maduro gleam to this dark cigar, whose creamy smoke is lush with fruity, ripe apple notes, molasses and brown sugar. The finish is long and spicy. Tasty and bold.”
And don’t forget about the large volume of wonderfully aromatic smoke thats perfectly matched to its long finish. Ciao Bella!

CAO World: Colombia is one of this company’s very popular World Series.
This highly rated cigar utilizes a unique blend of Colombian and Brazilian leaves found nowhere else. But the key to this amazing, medium bodied cigar is the Cameroon African binder. The cigar is well constructed and tightly packed from head to foot. Despite the amount of tobacco, this vitola has a wide open draw with a slow burn.
When Cigar Aficionado gave it a score of 92, the industry took serious notice. Their review still holds up. ” A large, thick cigar that draws and burns evenly. It’s core of earth and wood is balanced by sweet, fruity notes of black cherry and nougat with a nutty touch of cashew.” What more do you need to know about this very exceptional cigar?

Cigar Aficionado had kind words in 2007 for this flavorful and medium bodied maduro, as well. “Near black, this cigar has a solid core of sweet tobacco, complemented by nuts, coffee and a hint of leather on the finish.” It goes to show you that after 15 years, this cigar is still a winner!

Brought to us from JC Newman, the Cuesta Rey line has been around forever. In fact, King Alfonso XIII of Spain who ruled from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s declared it his favorite! The Dominican filler picked from the center of the plants has been aged five years. The wrapper is grown on Oliva’s Ecuadorian farm. The cigars are then aged in Spanish Cedar lined cabinets. The result is a stick with a medium to full bodied taste as rich as it’s heritage. This is one of my favorite “Old School” brands. Step back in time and try some of these great sticks!

Joya De Nicaragua Cuatro Cinco was created in 2015 to celebrate the company’s 45th anniversary.
With attention to detail, the 5 year old tobaccos are stored in oak barrels and continue to age producing a complex, medium-full bodied smoke with amazing flavors. Giving it a respectable 92 rating, Cigar Aficionado’s description is short and sweet” Box-pressed with a full draw. The cigar starts sweet with hints of molasses that segue into spicier elements and big notes of hickory.”
With this in mind, it’s no surprise why so many seasoned smokers are rediscovering this time honored brand. Cuatro Cinco stick is still one of today’s true Luxury cigars.
