The Ashton Company describes this great cigar best, “Handcrafted in Estelí, Nicaragua by legendary cigar-maker, Jose “Pepin” Garcia, San Cristobal Ovation is an opulent cigar, drawn from only the finest and rarest tobaccos grown on Garcia family estates in honor of the brand’s influential reception. A dark and lustrous San Andrés Oscuro wrapper emerges from an intensive two-and-a-half-year double-fermentation to reveal an approachable and captivating richness. Articulate notes of dark cocoa, wood and leather register with bottomless intrigue veiled beneath a creamy potency. Ovation concludes with sweet hickory aromas and substantial, prolonged gratification.”

La Gloria Cubana Spanish Press is definitely one of this company’s most unique entries.
This edition’s blend uses a Nicaraguan Jalapa wrapper encasing a Mexican San Andrés binder. The exquisite fillers include Brazilian mata fina, Dominican olor and piloto cubano along with Nicaraguan Jalapa . It’s important to note the Spanish Press method of producing cigars is a very old world pre-embargo technique using boxes instead of molds. The result is a spectacular medium bodied box pressed cigar with a great draw from start to finish.
Noted Reviewer KATMAN quickly rates this unique cigar a score 0f 90 claiming….. “I am truly amazed at how good this cigar is.” Blind Man’s Puff simply says that LGC Spanish press is “ A Magnificent Cigar” They up it to a 92. Cigar Coop agrees with the same 92 and aptly describes this LGC as a flavor bomb. Think Natural Tobacco, Red Licorice, Pepper, Baker’s Spice, Earth for starters.
If you’re a fan of LGC, here’s you chance to try a cigar made the way they were over a hundred years ago.

La Gloria Cubana Esteli is one of the greatest cigars available anywhere for under $5.
This blend consists of very select Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco fillers and binder leaves. Encasing all this is a prime Nicaraguan wrapper from the Jalapa region. The result was an immediate success.
The critics at Halfwheel describe it as a flavor bomb. Think pizza dough, almonds, sweet apple and pita bread fro starters! Leaf Enthusiast rates it at 90. They’re words are perfect. “A very nice medium-bodied flavor profile that has plenty of complexity.” Developing Palates expands with more details. ‘You’re treated to earth, leather, toasted notes, spices, creme brûlée, chocolate and baking spices.” But when Blind Man’s Puff scored it an astounding 93, it really took off. Their take was the best. “This is really a nice cigar. The initial mild flavors attracted my interest and the gradual increase in intensity was perfect to end my day.”
No doubt this super high quality affordable smoke should be in your humidor.

Cigar Authority gave it an astounding 94 rating. Around the half way point the molasses slides into the background as some dark chocolate emerges and becomes the dominant profile.”
